Kid Life Small Group
Another week and I am still alive. The kids have sharp teeth, but my youth football jukingskills kept me alive. We had an additional leader today so my group was 6 instead of last week’s 12. We ran short on time and that I will have to work on for next week. I had the same problem the previous week, but I had edited the study notes down and thought I could get it all in, but it didn’t happen. I talked to the other leaders and they had the same dilemma.
I did get my over eager question answerer again, but this week he came prepared with a multitude of answers. I had to finally start cutting him off a little to give the other kids an opportunity to speak. Overall better than last week but I have a long way to go.
KidLife Small Group
Today I was officially indoctrined into the Cangelosi Dojo. For those of you outside of NLC that is Kid Life @ NLC. I am now a small group leader at the 8:45am service. I had about 12 boys from 3rd-5th grade. It is going to be a stretch for me, and that is a good thing. I got to know the kids this week, and we got off to a rough start.
When leading adults you do not have the one guy who blurts out the answer to every question. By the way his answer to every question was one of two things. “So I can have Eternal life in Heaven,” or “We can pray for the food God gave us.” If I asked for his favorite color I am sure one of those two would have been his answer.
We talked about what we are grateful for, and so that led into what items we value. Two of the kids valued thier coin collections. They seemed a little young to be interested in coins, but hey I am sure Donald Trump was flipping houses by their age.
By the way if you are a New Lifer, then Kid Life needs male leaders. Trust me, if they let me in, then anyone is capable of doing the job. Anyways, who really cares if a 5th grader thinks they are a dork. I even tried the dancing in their songs. I sure hope that video camera was off.
